My first solid wheat rolls

Postby PennysaverCP » Thu Jan 26, 2012 6:57 pm

Told my kids but they dont seem to care as much as I do (they think I'm crazy) so I thought I would post here. I stopped by the bank and they had a $25.00 box of customer rolled in addition to my regular pickup. When I got home I started looking and 5 of the rolls has "wheat" written on them :D Sure enough - all 250 were wheats!!!! Haven't looked thru them yet but a simple thing like that made my day.

Good score. Post on the tracking threads if any of them are pre-40's.

Cheers,

That would make my day too. I know the majority of the wheats we find roll searching aren't worth much, but I always feel like I've found something special, even when its a 57D.

Congrats!

Nice! I just hit 6 solid rolls of wheats myself, but I give credit to one of my regular tellers, who mentioned it to me. :) Some old man came in and said what they were and was cashing them in. No key dates, of course, but there were a few in the 20s and 30s. I sold them at the local coin show and used the profit to fill 3 holes in my wheat album. :)

I don't think I'll ever get tired of finding wheats...even when I know the commons only fetch 3-4 cents its a fun feeling every time the wheat ears shine at you!
