Cannot wait for the spring

Postby mtalbot_ca » Fri Mar 09, 2012 10:47 pm

Here in the Great White North (ie Quebec) everything, including my scrapping comes to a crushing halt during the winter.

I cannot wait for the spring cleaning frenzy, where the curb sides and dumpsters have their occasional metal item.

In the mean time, my little shop in the basement is full of the little stuff I was able to get over the last four months. Hopefully the prices will be up from last year!

Cheers,

Me to, same for garage sales. I see stuff appearing alongside the road, aluminum heat shields, cans, etc. I'll probably be collecting lots of aluminum again this year, seems nobody wants it, wanted to get into melting it into bars in wait for maybe it will be worth something someday. I'm still discouraged about collecting aluminum, I just don't get much for it.

Here the winter has been so mild that there probably won't be a "spring rush" at the yards like usual.

There was no snow cover to slow down activity. Also, the segment of the population that normally has decent secondary income from plowing was out doing other work instead, including scrapping.
