How low would you go?

Postby Copper Catcher » Sun Mar 18, 2012 2:37 pm

What if the door bell rang and you had a cash buyer for all the 95% copper pennies you have collected....How low would you go?

.0125 per penny?

.0150 per penny?

.02 per penny?

What say you?

I made a New Year's Resolution that I wouldn't sell below 2x. So I'd probably let them go for 1.75x. :D

Ya, below 2x YOU have to carry them out.

I would sell for abour 1.8 right now, but only a quantity that I can replace. With the proceeds I would buy silver for my stack. I read one comment that made alot of sense to me: 5-10 cents on 5-10 years. I'm going to wait for a few years and find out!

Not for less than 76% of melt. My collection is mostly Canadians.

I would sell at 1.5 if someone would pickup locally I have approximately $4000 worth. All the time and effort hand sorting I believe warrants a half a cent a piece.

I've always figured I'm in it for a long-term minimum of 3x face ... but in this situation where I don't have to deal with the general public via Craigslist or Ebay or deal with shipping, I'd let 'em go for 2x.

I sold some off at 1.25 mistake but wanted to move a few boxes been selling a few boxes at 1.667 locally on craig. I stack 3/4 of what I sort, 3.00 would have me selling all I can sort, but then I'd just end up stacking more.

I would introduce the stranger to the business end of my Sig and demand to know who told them that I have coins. Just kidding  Right now I would take 1.5X as long as there was no shipping or delivery involved for me. The percentages are still strong in my area so they could be replaced.

I think I would part with them for 3X face. But I don't have that many, and like others are saying, I could restack at a pretty decent rate.

I'm sorting by year so I wouldn't go under 2x, if at all. If I did sell any of my 59-81 I might go 1.5x but I'm not sure. I only ever sold for supplies or for a trade up.

I'd have to get at least 3X. I get 2X every time I sell.
