How many of ya'll supplement your silver stash with roll searching or do you just buy your silver?

I made the pledge to not buy any silver this year. I have only been adding to my stash by roll searching. +/- 74 toz so far this year.
Cannot beat 1xFV price.

I do both, but on the roll searching (dimes), I have been skunk for about the last $750 worth... Not happy about that, and thinking about just going to buying, but we'll see.

I've added ~253 toz roll searching and ~30 toz from purchases since Jan 1st... I guess I'm supplementing my roll searching with the occasional purchase.

That is from 381 boxes of halves and 123 boxes of dimes. A couple of really lucky scores in January...
I try to do 130-150 boxes of halves a month (40-45% seem to be skunks lately). Dime are just a bonus, if I get to them great...

Can I ask how you're returning your halves in such quantity? What bank to you use? To they charge? Rolled or bagged? Thanks

I roll search, but on a very small volume compared to most. This year I've added about 4 oz via roll/loose searching. Mostly dimes, a couple of halves and a few war nickles.
2010 I probably added close to 150 oz via roll searching, and about 1/2 of that was from one score.
2011 - probably less than 40 oz.
I wish I had more time/resources to do more roll searching, but right now (and thru Sep of this year) I'm just slammed at work.

Been collecting Ag coins since 1975 and started buying Ag in bulk in 1985. I remember buying $500 face value bags of JFK's for about $1500 back then. 90% junk bags were considered the bottom of the barrel back then. I sure do miss those days.
I used to roll seach a lot, but I stopped a few years ago after Ag got above $15/oz. Too many skunk rolls/boxes for the time and effort that I put in.
I still buy Au and Ag on large dips. I only sort pennies now.
Time is precious, stop wasting it.

Old timer?... hey, I'm only 47!
I always felt that a physical silver/gold coin was real and the paper was not, even when I was 10 years old. That was long before I learned about fiat money, the Federal Reserve and our fraudulent banking system.
My recommedation is to buy as much Ag as possible while it's still cheap. It's not going to be cheap for very much longer.
Time is precious, stop wasting it.
