Keep them or rip them? **UPDATE** 1909!!

Postby Bigsarge » Tue Apr 10, 2012 3:14 pm

OK, finishing up a $25 box of pennies that has given me a record 47 wheats. Out of those, only 7 from 40's and 1-39, the rest are 50s. So, I grab the last 2 rolls out of the box and this is what I see. My question is, would you just keep the rolls intact for the hell of it and store them, or go ahead and sort them ?

I should add, that there's nothing special on the other ends

Oh, this is the worst-looking hat I ever saw. What, when you buy a hat like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup, huh?

Oh, it looks good on you though.

I've found a few of these. I always intend to keep them but within a few days I always rip em :)

I don't know how you managed to keep them intact this long...if I see a roll showing a wheat, I am cracking it open ASAP to see the loot!

They would have already been opened if it were me, no questions asked.

I had a roll like that tonight. I immediately ripped it open. It was a 1944 D and the only wheat in the roll. Congrats on finding so many wheats.

Definitely, Rip them open! :D

ok, thank for the replies folks! Though the KSA does intrigue me, I think I'm going to go ahead and rip them. I'll do it tomorrow and update the results. to many Michelobs now to mess with them. Theyd end up on the floor. I have to admit, I just thought it was cool that the chances of them showing up as ends on modern rolls. I'm sure some of you old school sorters have seen it plenty, but, that's just the rookie in me.
