let's say they do pull the nickel and penny from circulation. do you think the sorters/hoarders will see more liquidity and even spot plus premium for these coins?

Well, I can't speak for the nickle, but it sure seems to me that the copper penny would do well if the US quit minting them. I suppose the nickle would do as well or better based on spot prices. Just my uninformed opinion :D
