1994 P upside down reverse

I have doing a little research and was wondering ( as well as wanting to inform the group) if anyone else came across something like this ever? I always look at the 1994 pennies in search of the elusive DD reverse error and on this penny that was found when you flip it north and south the reverse is just about upside down. It looks like there are a few other examples online regarding this potential error for this date and was just curious how much the coin could be worth and how common it is? http://www.lincolncentresource.com/Erro ... dDies.html .
I have come across "trick coins" in the past but this coin sounds like the others when you drop it, not the thud the hollowed out trick ones make. Looking at the coin it's not quite exactly upside down, only off ever so slightly maybe a a few degrees at the most. Please share if you have also come across anything like this and what the premium may be for these type of coins. Thanks.

Rotated dies happen in all denominations and throughout the centuries of the US mint. Some are a few degrees off of normal and some are much more severe, such as the one you are describing. The more severe the error on any coin, the more likely it will command a better premium. How much of a premium is always up to the buyer and seller. Research it well before you sell, and congrats on the find.

I knew that was going to be the first question...first time adding a pic, so hopefully this works. Is this something worth sending off to be graded just to certify as I am sure there will be people that question it? I know it is circulated but how rare are these and has anyone else found something like this on the site? After putting the coin in a flip, it defintely looks like it is a 165 degree rotated die as outlined in the prior link I included. It is finds like these that make hand sorting so much fun. I used to think wide AM's were fun to find, but now I may have to flip each zinc coin now ... which is only going to slow things down even more!!! You know its a good bag when the copper was over 30% (still working on it), 15 dimes and the last handful had a silver 1958 rose. Thanks for info Mr. Harmony.

Rotated dies are common on pre-1836 coins, but on modern coins the die is machined so it only fits in the press one way and "shouldn't" rotate, so they are a lot scarcer on modern coins. It's definitely a nice piece. Email or call Fred Weinberg--he should be able to give you a value.
