Is it yellow like gold or weight anything close to a US gold piece?

If that is a 1861 D Coronet Head My Krause book says it's one of 1,597 and a $3000 coin.

The picture is too blurry. Is there a mint mark?

It rings like silver. I can not see a mint mark on it but I have a hard time seeing them on any coins.

Sure as hell looks like a $5 gold piece... but that should be about 8 grams.....

Can you make out any of the letters beneath the eagle? Does it look like FIVE D. ?
