Anyone else store corn/popcorn for grinding into cornmeal?

I've been reading several posts on other sites of people storing corn and/or popcorn to grind into cornmeal, and I feel like an idiot for not having thought of this. (I have several hundred pounds of rice, but no corn yet.) Do any of you store and grind corn? If so, what kind of grinder do you use?

I just read a warning on one site not to use a coffee grinder for corn, but my seven-year supply of coffee is already ground (and vacuum-packed), so that won't be a problem for me.

I would also love to find a good quality, economical mill for this purpose! Rice and corn flour would be a great economical advantage in staying on the gluten free diet for the kids. All the gluten free is tremendously exspensive.

Being able to make my own oatmeal would be sweet too!

The people who made my grinder warned against using it on any kind of corn. I think popcorn is even harder than the rest.

A broken grinder is no benifit, and has no value for trade.

Is there some warning around about not grinding rice or oats?

(There are hull free strains of oats around, haven't seen them around for a while, but that might be just chance.)

I have 100 lbs of corn in storage. Our grinder should handle it fine, but just to be sure, I'll try it out in a day or two. I have 200 more pounds of corn in the back of the Suburban! (Most of that is for the deer and hogs)
