Chris, if you can get it without paying more than $3-4 for shipping I think it is a good deal. I looked on ebay and found on listed for $45.95 + $3.95 shipping and another for $50 with free shipping so if you can get it for around $45 I say go for it if thats what you want. Good luck. Robert

Did Somaila actually make this coin? Most of these countires do not have their own mints and contract/outsource it out

Found this about the 2012 version.
Not only do these Silver coins have a fascinating design, but their minting is also interesting. The Silver Elephant coins are commissioned by Somalia but are minted by the Bayerische Hauptmünzamt, or Bavarian Mint, in Munich, Germany. More than 800 years old, the Bavarian Mint began producing coins in 1158 and is the oldest continuing operation in Munich. It is one of five German State Mints but is often thought of as the Bavarian State Ministry of Finance.

They get more expensive the further you go back. I am trying to find mintage #'s on these to justify these premiums. Still, they are nice coins.
