In clad we trust....what???

I was just doing some Christmas shopping on Amazon.com and decided to check out their selection of silver bullion.
I saw this "1 troy ounce .999 silver" bar for $9.99 and figured there had to be a catch...click on the link below and look at the back

You have to love it. Yesterday I and my boys were at the coin shop when a young man brought in two 1 oz like that and said that he had just paid $30 for two and the seller (who was a good friend) told him that they were silver and worth over $30 each and he could buy more at that price and he wanted to make a quick flip. The look on his face was priceless when he was told that they were plated and not worth anything to the coin shop.

Eh... I'm pretty lenient with misleading labels... people should pay attention to what they're buying... but this is going too far. Just because you tell the truth on the back doesn't mean you can lie on the front. It's not an ounce of silver.
267,500 pennies and 186,000 nickels searched. Hand sorter.

I had some scummer from craigslist try to mix some of these in with a lot I looked at. He played dumb like he did not know they were fake. But then when I found some Ikes he had that were not 40% he flipped out and backed out on everything else. I'm sure he just screwed the next guy. If I did not have my little girl with me I would have had a little more of a "discussion" with him I think, but I just told him good luck and have a nice day. Total jerk.

I agree with bman. Where is my gun! You must DYODD, when it comes to purchasing precious metals. Counterfeiters will do anything in their power to lighten a honest mans wallet. :(
