Somebody cashed in an old penny jar...

Postby rexmerdinus » Mon Jan 21, 2013 11:14 am

I hand sort, so I usually just pick up about $100 at a time. Last time I was in, the bank only had $35 to give me, so I happily took it and left my name and number for when someone brings in a bunch of pennies. They called a few days ago with $100 for me. Long story short, I opened three rolls and each one was 90%+ copper, with some 1960''s and 1970's near BU's and a 1950's Canadian thrown in for good measure. I'm thinking there should be a high percentage of wheats hidden in the rest of the $100.00.

Sounds promising. Nice of the bank to keep you in the loop.

Could be some tasty rolls there...and regardless of the rolls, you have a score in a bank friendly enough to step out of their way to get you these pennies.
