Look dad, a passed away roll!

Postby henrysmedford » Tue Jan 29, 2013 7:48 pm

Today I and my son Franklin were asking for some CRW and the teller said she had $10 worth in the vault and that we could have them. Franklin has a hard time talking and when the teller was twenty feet back Franklin in his load voice states "Look dad a passed away roll" ! The teller asked what Franklin was trying to say and I said he is trying to say it looks like a roll of coins that a widow might have brought in of her late husbands coins. The teller said that were they came from. I asked if there was more and that was it. The roll was full of 1963-D all nice and new.

That would be a Franklin-Thogeyism. This is how language evolves.

Check for 3/3's as frank noted.

Also added a comma to your title....It just confused the heck out of me without it.

Oh yeah.....great score :)

You could collect their coins and introduce them to the single guys on here. Win/win. :)

Better yet...introduce them to the old married guys. My wife can whip the young'uns into shape while I go hunting for a rich heiress!

Not as much to look for in a year without a mintmark. :( But great stuff nonetheless!
