"Tin cans" are generally aluminum, so I have no idea what tin is used for.

"Tin cans" are actually steel. Scrap yards frequently call sheet steel "tin" which is completely inaccurate, because it's steel, not tin

You're right, I realized that soon after I posted it... I was thinking of pop cans.

Tin is used in the alloys bronze and pewter. It is also heavily used in the plating industry as previously mentioned.

These are some VERY nice bars! I picked up a few one ouncers and I love them! He is not kidding about the colors on the bismuth! His pictures don't do it justice and nor would any from my crappy phone . I had them in hand for about an hour before I had to go buy some more! Awesome work and can't wait to see what's next

1 Ozt Indium is now available

Indium is an extremely soft metal used in electronics, predominately LCD screens, and as a component in low temperature alloys. I have also heard of thin sheets of indium being used as a substitute for heat transfer paste in high end computer cooling applications. You could bend these bars in half with your bare hands if you wanted to, or write your name it in with your fingernail. It's an interesting metal and not much exists in small bullion form.
