I looked on my on-demand last night and this episode was not listed. I did find that it will replay next Monday 18 FEB on the History Channel.

On mine it was simply listed as "room".

Just finished watching it tonight, the whole part with the pennies looked/was completely fake and scripted... Wonder why they wanted it on the show in the first place?

Rick kinda killed any hope of that by saying the coins were better off in a bank. It's kinda a wasted opportunity.

Would only make sense, since they are selling $65 silver ounces.....

Yeah I can't imagine the Old Man lifting one of those buckets into the trunk. Sux that the producers of these shows get so greedy for airable footage that they start making situations up, and tell people to act who are by no means actors. Same thing happened with Storage Wars... I used to love that show, but now it's just silly how staged it is. Waiting for them to ruin the last two I care to watch - Gold Rush and Fast-N-Loud...

Fast-n-Loud was already ruined by that annoying loudmouth Richard. I would never buy a car from that sketchy sleazeball.

Gold Rush is a different story......I wanna sock Todd so hard for his way of thinking sometimes. He thinks that his actions will make them money but in the end, it costs them time and money!! How the hell did people invest in him is beyond me. I'd be onsite 24/7 just to make sure my investment wasn't undercut by Todd's bungling actions.

I just returned from a business trip to Belgium - Antwerp and Brussels. I had the episode on DVR and the pennies are sorted copper. There are just too many that are very shiny on top. It's all staged for sure.

I just saw it the other night too.. and I saw way too many shiny ones on top too. A trained penny sorter can often tell you if the penny is copper or zinc just from the color. Later on in the show I clearly saw Shields on top to confirm this.

Yeah, that pretty much ruins a show when they begin to stage things. :x

Maybe the old man really is a penny hoarder, but he wouldn't bring his coppers to the store. So, they just filled a few buckets with anything.

It could be his store bucket. Or in otherwords, the pennies he gets from transactions from the store, to be sorted and transported to a secure location somewhere else.

Realcent CSI.

OOOORrrrrrrr, he doesn't have reliable dump banks! Those are his rejects! And he "planted" them so when they were discovered he could pretend to object, then let his son "win" by making employees roll them and return them. He's a stinkin GENIUS!

Given this business probably goes thru a fair amount of money on a daily basis, a coin transaction wouldn't be a hindrance.

that is a freaking awesome idea! I would leave to see the episode where a Ryedale is brought in and shown how it worked, I bet they would love it, and buy it, Andy should be the one, and he should ask for a low price, in exchange for them airing it on TV.

then it would be ridiculous for the copper penny market I bet!

If Andy wants to do it, I have their phone number and email address....

the pawn shop is a legit shop in business for profit.

they "ONLY" film when an appointment is made. not all filmings end up on TV.

they have many employees at that place, and the family (owners) are not there on a regular basis, only when filming is happening. I wouldnt say the show is staged and/or fake, but they do have scenes that are set up, or staged when it concerns just the few guys hanging out, it makes for funny TV.

It is definitely not rigged as far as the people bringing in stuff or staged like a set, it is a real business, with a real address, with real employees, with real inventory, both pawned items and items they buy. I would say they film less than a few hours a week tops in total time. If you are interested in getting on the show, you have to make an appointment, and go from there.

Watching that show, it's really obvious that some scenes are faked. The scenes when they talk to each other and make jokes and insult Chumly have really bad acting sometimes. The scenes where they actually buy and sell stuff, on the other hand, seem much more real.

No, if my understanding of the show tells me anything, you go in and ask at least $4000, because their automatic response is to immediately counteroffer by "dropping a zero." Or something pretty close. I used to like this show, but now it seems the ONLY thing they are trying to teach with it any more, is: YOUR STUFF IS NOT WORTH AS MUCH AS YOU THINK IT IS.

yes. that would be correct in all cases. Except in the case where he would want to gain free TV advertisement, just to be able to show the machine sorting on TV, that is worth millions. He should just go in there and offer them one for free, if they show his machine working on TV. I think he should ask for 500 copper pennies for it, that way it makes the whole transaction sorta fun!
