That is a long dry spell. Is it your worst ?

Just realized I had missed this question. I wasn't clear. No, the referenced skunk was just the one box.

So far, including today, I've looked at 19 boxes in total. Those 19 have yielded a total of 16 18 war nicks, 5 buffaloes and 1 V nickel. Plus a fair amount of 1939-60 nicks that I've pulled.

(Plus I found a war nick earlier this year in change.)

Edit - I was going through the culled 1940s and found two more war nicks that I'd missed! Careless!! So that makes 18 war nicks in 19 boxes.

2013 box number 20:

43P warnick (number 19)
1938P - my first and a hole filler

Oh - (it was largely CWR), I also got a roll of BU 2011Ds and an original-wrapped Mint roll of 2004x Westward Journey nickels (can't tell the mint mark from the ends). These worth anything as-is?

I am now at 250,000 nickels sorted. The stats are showing that my percentage is still declining but somewhat levelling off.

Here it goes:

Out of 250,000 coins, a total of 28 983 were .999 for a percentage of 11,59%.

Still some coins are eluding me:

1922-1936 = 4 (1922,1933 x 2, 1934)
1937 = 7
1938 = 2
1939 = 7
1940 = 12
1941 = 16
1942 = 4 (4 Nickel, 0 TOMBAC)
1943 = 0
1944 = 1
1945 = 3
1946 = 5
1947 = 16 (8 maples, 8 straight, 0 dot)
1948 = 2
1949 = 8
1950 = 14
1970 = 16

See you at 300,000 (in 15 weeks....)

Cheers,

I think I'm on bag five with no war nics...but I did have a nice run of buffalos in the last bag.

My priorities have shifted to keeping the earlier date AU/BU coins and S-mints rather than just pre-60's. I'll still keep pulling the pre-60 until I have a full box of them, but from a long term perspective, I'd rather pile up boxes of "nice" coins than heavily worn early dates.
