Marksmanship badges from the military May or may not contain any silver. Depends entirely on which vendor makes it. The badges I have from my years (16 consecutive expert) vary from silver alloyed with nickel, nickel plated pewter (other white metals have been used), something called oxidized silver which has a grey-black color, and likely a variety of other alloys ranging from no silver to .999. I do not know what is available from on base uniform shops today, because I have not visited one since 1993.
