I just purchased a Silver Dansco dime album at auction. I paid very little for it. It only had 6 dimes in it.
They were:
1921...........Key that everyone seen (VF)
1921-D........Key that everyone seen (VG)
1939
1944
1945
1942/41........Key that only I and dad noticed. (VF)

Franco American wrote:OK - this has absolutely nothing to do with coins but it was a great find nonetheless. I stopped in a consignment resale shop that also does Ebay. They had a bunch of 8 track tapes there. Now I have an older car with an 8 track player in it so I started to look through them. There were all these 8 tracks from the mid to late 80's. I looked it up on my phone and saw the brought good money so I bought 20 of them for 60cents each. SO far I have sold 10 of them and cleared over $1000. The most expensive one to date was a U2 tape from 1988 that sold for $331 - no joking.

So I guess there are deals out there if you look. BTW - the profits went back into my money for stacking

WAY cool.

I have seen U2 56 times with my wife. We met on the U2 mailing list back in 1997 lol.

Battery operated and no, but looks like I can switch out the clock part very easily. And am planning to hang it up once I get it working!

I just bought over a ton of books at an estate sale. 3 pick-up truck loads.
There are a lot of aircraft and car shop manuals.
I will make thousands of dollars on this deal
Lots of work though.
If I have the gift of prophesy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to move mountains but do not have love I am nothing. And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned but do not have love it profits me nothing.

Looks like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sterling-Silver ... 2175wt_758

Not a great deal but good enough for me.

1971 40% blue ike set and a george washington commemorative 90% half with box for $15

He was a coin dealer in a local mall, just chatted him up and he dropped the price. Thanks to this forum I actually knew what I was talking about.

This is an old story, but still worth posting in this thread. In January, 2009 (when it seemed the world was going to end- at least the financial world) I happened to be in the West Palm Beach, Florida area, near where scamster Bernie Madoff had a lot of former clients. I had seen a pawn shop owner on CNBC talking about all the high end stuff he'd been getting lately. I decided to go into his shop. I happened to see a small container of Kennedy halves. I noticed that clad halves were in the same container with silver halves and thought that was interesting. I asked the pawn shop employee how much the halves were and he said they were $1 each. So there were about 40 silver halves (I think all but a few were 40%ers- maybe three 1964's). But I made three piles of halves and put a clad one on top of each pile. So there was a clad half on the top of each pile and all silver coins underneath. The employee came over to make sure I got the count right and off I went with all these halves for only $1 each. I never did sell them, but could have flipped them right away and made a decent profit. Who says that all pawn shops are ripoffs?!?
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

NOTE: ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- often
substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) and selling short as well.

I went to an estate sale outside of town a few weekends ago and bought a phonograph. Paid $95 for it and drove back to town and sold it for $375 to a local dealer.
