April 2014 Scrap Metal Salvage totals

I realize not all of you want to track everything down to the pound, but I do because I'm a little over-zealous about scrapping (I don't cruise around on trash day, but I will make an effort to grab any metal thing that I can in day-to-day life if I stumble across it). If you have seen Country's copper sorting tracking threads, this is the same concept.

This will be a thread to track our collective totals every month progress... My first post is technically my scrap from March 31st, but close enough to kick off April. Some yards have different names for various classifications of steel, so just post what your yard calls it and we'll figure out how to streamline it as we go. I may just condense all that into "steel" and "stainless steel" for simplicity but we'll see.

This is for metal only, since many people have no where to sell cardboard, glass, plastic, etc. We can make a separate thread for that if there is interest.

Sounds fun! I should be getting a truck again, soon. It's hard to scrap out of a Honda hybrid But great gas mileage! I have looked at the past numbers here viewtopic.php?f=11&t=71 and we at realcent have recycled lots of metal!

electric motors at $.24 a pound with 227 pounds= $54.48

total haul for today $2747.85

I cant find the ticket for last week but it was around $1800

I did haul around 2500 pounds of shreads 2 weeks ago as well
I don't normally haul this much weekly so don't get any ideas
ive been off work hurt since November and it is stacked to the roof

7,022 total pounds for the month, and that is just the three of us that participated in tracking! Probably safe to say Realcent as a whole crushed 5 tons of metal in April.
