Just came across this, and couldn't find it on a search here so . . . Looks like it's being sold for around $100 US. It's novel that for sure. The bit coin in it is worth about $32.52 as I write. Limited to 2,009 mintage. $200K could corner the entire market LOL. Here is a closer look:

The author of that article doesn't know how to math. One BitCent would be about $3 not $30.

Well, that's another $30 worth of premium I'm not willing to pay. Thanks for bringing me up to speed.

i got excited for an instant thinking that my meager hoard of a few bit cents was worth something again, but then realized if BTC had shot up to $3k i'd have heard about it. It was a blissful instant though!

I find the title interesting, though. "A new silver collector piece is backed with bitcoins and will be released in December" So now we're backing precious metals with bitcoins? Seems like an odd turn of phrase. I'm sure Bitcoin people would love it if they became sudden holders of a serious reserve currency, but has anyone heard any rumblings and rumors about Bitcoin moving to actually make that happen? I doubt it's really possible given a lot of factors, especially that that BC has stated they have a strict limit on the number of BC's that will be generated.
Thoughts?
