A classic customer excuse for why he had halves to turn in

There is someone in my area sorting halves. he has an interesting way of turning them in. He doesn't open the roll entirely; he just opens the top then folds it closed like you would a traditional wrapper.

Unfortunately, I sometimes end up with his halves that he has sorted.

Today, I went into one of my dump banks and they said they had over $600 in halves.

I asked them if someone turned them in

They said the guy said he had obtained all those halves because he was making a sculpture out of halves.

I figured I would take the chance; when the brought them out they were in the original bank wrappings but had been folded at the top.

I knew right away that this had been someone looking for silver

All the rolls were skunks; I thought his excuse was kind of funny and that the tellers actually believed that story.

I feel your pain, man, I have a new sorter half and penny sorter in my area (not sure if they're the same person).

Sculpture huh? Make sure to drop off a lot more halves at that bank so he will have more to sculpt.
