Silver is currently below $14 oz at this moment on Sunday night. This slide has been awhile in the making, but most of us could see it coming.
The current advertised APMEX buy price for US 90% is under $10. Their current purchase price (supposedly in larger quantity) is $9.98 per $1 face. OUCH!
Depending upon which school of thought you follow, a Fed interest rate hike may be in the offing for the December meeting. I'm in this for the long haul anyway. At these low prices many LCS owners may suddenly withdraw a large chunk of their US 90% in hopes of happier times.
In times like this, I'll first try to pry loose some US 90% in smaller amounts. If I'm unsuccessful there, I'll go after some of the "unloved" silver on the market. This would include Warnix, 40% Kennedy halves, Canadian 80% circ silver and perhaps some of the bigger Mexican silvers from pre-1980. This doesn't include the very low silver content Un Peso coins from the late 1950s and early 1960s.
It's going to be an interesting and hairy end of 2015 for us silver fans. Turbulence ahead, but we'll get through it.
