I bought this offer a few weeks ago. All ten of the coins look perfect. They're trying to make an impression. These deals are the hook to draw you in. Then they call you and try to sell over-priced slabbed coins. I have a tracfone (with the ringer silenced) just for deals like this. There are several related companies in the Beaumont, TX area that also run these "loss leader" deals in magazines. I've done well by them over the years. Just ignore the upsell, and if you do happen to answer the phone then just keep asking for ten more eagles at the same price. ;)

I have bought lots of loss leaders over the years. I never answer random calls from Texas.

I was going to, but they tax me on it, so that's almost a buck an oz extra...

I took advantage of this one earlier this month, they arrived in BU condition by UPS. Included a catalog with same offer. Got on website and didn't need catalog code. Still $16.95, limit 10 and to ship free. Ordered 10 more via CC for no additional charge. No brainer. Not the first offer from this company I'm pleased with. However their code did not work with the 1/10 oz gold eagles priced at $129 in the catalog. To Damn bad, would have loaded up. Have gotten no calls from this company. My guess is they are selling it to telemarketers. LOL

Catalog is number 124 and code is CNC16BBB if you want to monkey around with it on their website to see if you can get a discount.

I bought 10 eagles from them. They arrived today and they look nice. About 10 minutes before they arrived in the mail, I got a call from them trying to sell graded Eagles.

I'll bet that was the 1-800 # that called me while I was on the road and didn't answer, and didn't leave a message. LOL Got it.

Order #3 just made. I'm going to keep doing this 'till they stop me or the price drops significantly . . . then I'll find them for less somewhere else.

how did you get that price? isn't it 16.95 each (so $169.50 for 10)?

Going for order number 2 - the first is supposedly shipped, and if it arrives and the offer is still open I'll keep placing more order until I find another better offer. Once you sign up there is no penalty for getting more - you've already committed to having to filter out the phone calls at that point!

With all prices with premiums (except to spend $3,000 or more) for rounds and bars [https://comparesilverprices.com/] close to or more than the $16.95 for govmint's 10 ASEs special, I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest milking this one for all it's worth as you are able. If there is a better deal out there please show me as I cannot find one right now as good as this. I was able to find a "Littleton" join our "Coin on Approval Club" and get an single ASE for $16.81 which I took advantage of and since ended membership in. But otherwise, I'm not seeing it. Have my order # for 3rd set of ten ASEs, about one per week I can handle.

Stack away my hard and sound money brothers but with deflation winning make sure you have a stack of cash also. Stack away as I just read a confirmation all is not well in the world here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/201 ... keeps-inv/

Seems Mario Draghi the ECB president announced another round of rate cuts and QE.

I'm liking these guys. Just got UPS shipping notification for order #3.

Just put in my order #3 - we'll see how long this can keep up. Apart from getting handled coins that aren't in a mint tube, I'm not sure what the drawback is. (That is, unless/until they stop delivering.)

Edit - I had forgotten that I had ordered from them several times before, including a tube about a year ago and another couple of orders before that. Not a lot of history with them, but no issues.

I just caught a rumor wind of Govmint and MCM being the same company? Anyone verify?[/quote]

I saw their ad in "Army Times" and saw they had a Burnsville MN address so I gave them a call with some questions. If you search the internet for Asset Marketing Services you will see that they have the same address in Burnsville as Govmint. The info I found said that Govmint and MCM are both brands belonging to Asset Marketing Services. Unfortunately I live in Minnesota so I would have to pay sales taxes. I was also interested to see if they had a retail outlet, but they only do mail order.

Great sleuthing. I was wondering about them when I saw an Eagan MN shipping address. Just got my first 10 today.

This offer is a small loss-leader for them, but I suspect they are pulling out the MS-70 coins for grading/sale and selling the lower grade coins at a slight discount in the loss-leader, which is fine by me.

Great job removing the rumor, and appreciate the leg work put in to find it out. Are you in one of those municipalities that also tacks on sales tax?

I am not, however govmint is. I don't know how that would work. Would they charge applicable sales taxes at the destination location or the origin location. If they had a retail outlet and I went there to purchase they would charge taxes at the location of the sale. I am not sure how the mail order thing works. In the metro they have a 0.25 pct transit tax and if in Hennepin cty I think an additional 0.15 pct tax. Up in the Duluth area taxes can be over 10 pct. Minnesota land of 10,000 taxes.

After I setup a govmint account I looked at the order history and realized they had automatically merged it with my MCM orders. :) Same database.
