I have four gold coins in clasps. They hold the coin so it can be worn on a chain necklace.
Are the clasps typically 10K to 14K gold? Maybe junk metal with a nanogram flash of gold plating? What?
Maybe one of our resident recyclers knows from previous scrap?

If you’re talking about a coin bezel, they should be worth more than scrap. Maybe a local coin shop or jeweler would buy them for more than melt.
