Its interesting seeing all the categories that different yards use. I've never seen some of the ones you guys post and I scrapped for years.

584 lbs mixed wire @ $0.50/lb

Taking apart most modern washers is a waste of time unless you are going after reuseable parts. Most, if not all yards in my area will accept them intact despite the counterweights, and the components inside aren't worth much separated. As you've discovered, the electric motors in modern appliances are smaller. They also often have aluminum instead of copper windings, so they sell as irony aluminum instead of electric motor scrap ($0.10/lb vs. $0.13 at my local yard). The wire harness tends to be lower grade wire. The circuit boards are mostly low grade and not worth the time to separate by hand. Unlike dryers, they rarely contain loose coins or other valuable items.

the dime I got from the scrapyard is a 1939 Mercury head dime.
Also found 2 zinc pennies in the yard.

most of my washing machines have plastic tubes. they take em whole with the water and any counter weights, not worth the time to take apart and would probably get less for em.
most of my dryers metal tubes are so cheap they wouldn't make a good burn barrel for long. They go whole also.

I donated 9 bikes that I had found that were too good to scrap for 4 cents a pound... two even had aluminum frames. I donated them here https://bicas.org/

I wanted to donate them here https://www.azwfk.org/ but they had no room until after summer when they get more help fixing up the bikes

Totally agree.
Former stock broker w/ ~20 yrs. at one company. Spoke with 100k+ people and traded a lot (long, short, options, margin, extended hours, etc.).

NOTE: ANY stocks I discuss, no matter how compelling, carry risk- often
substantial. If not prepared to buy it multiple times in modest amounts without going overboard (assuming nothing really wrong with the company), you need to learn more about the market and managing risk. Also, please research covered calls (options) and selling short as well.
