Gold and Silver Price Prediction Contest

Postby Lemon Thrower » Sat Aug 03, 2024 2:18 pm

I was inspired by Shinnosukee's contest. I'm not giving anything away, but I'm interested in predictions.

So today, August 3, 2024, spot gold is at $2,443.10 and silver at $28.56.

Post your predictions for the end of 2024 (rather than intra-year highs). If you want to predict the date of an intra-year high, take a shot.

Silver $35.50 (naturally, now that I've dumped most of mine)

Yellow $2840.00 (80x 35.50]

It's strange how gold has been doing well, but silver is not.

PM prices (and stock market) will be dependent on...
1. If there is an interest rate cut in September.
2. Who "wins" the election.

Au: $2800

Ag: $33
Time is precious, stop wasting it.

Nah, you've got a prediction backed by logic or science or something. Way better than my random shots in the dark.

Silver is not doing well because I own more of that than Au. If I converted all my Ag to Au, then the opposite phenomenon would occur.

I know not who will "win" the election, but I already know who the loser will be. We the people.

Funny how our memories are skewed. I thought I guessed 2800 and 38, but no. My gold guess may be high, but my silver guess isn't unreasonable. 15% more of each and I'm there! Unfortunately for me they don't usually track at the same rate.

People will sell to raise cash to buy into the market so they can jump on the continued government gravy train (while it lasts, before they completely bankrupt the entire system). We're in technology bankruptcy now, for any honest assessment of the state of the federal government, but for their ability to print money and (while their grip on it is weakening) control international debt settlements, supported by a still dominant (though also weakening) military. It'll be a dip, but I believe will rise again quickly. If it doesn't dip then too bad for the loss of that buying opportunity.

Yes, the Fed is insolvent, it lost money last year and would have a negative net worth if it marked its assets to market. Which means is liabilities exceed its assets.
