Never heard of this site. This could be huge if true.

CERN is well known. But check the date. April Fools!

The cost of CERN’s Large Hadron Collider

It took around 10 years to build the LHC and the overall cost of that creation is said to have been around $4.75 billion.

That's fitting because I've gotten so many people on this site with my own April Fool's thread. The tables finally got turned on me. Touche`

There is talk about finding gold in asteroids one day, however.

I think there is also small amounts of gold in the oceans too. Another reason I like silver as the price would not be near high enough for the extraction process to be profitable.

There is a huge amount on gold in the ocean. But it is either so weakly spread out that gathering it would cost many x times more than it is worth, or it is so inaccessible that it would frankly be easier to go to the asteroids (as mentioned in another post) to look for it (which would be so expensive that we would need to see 100k gold to even consider that being worthwhile).

And if gold did go up to 100k then the cost to mine the asteroid would most likely go up by a similar percentage.
