I calculated a MUCH HIGHER figure and I have a buyer at that figure…
(40%ers) $4.75 profit x 2,479 = $11,775.25
(90%ers) $12.64 profit x 529 = $6,686.56
Total: $18,461.81
NOTE: The figures above are gross PROFIT, so after subtracting face value. In other words, for the 40%ers I can sell for $5.25 each, which is $4.75 above the 50 cents I paid for the coins.

Yeah, I did it mostly in my head and clearly dropped something in the calc. Your number is a better assessment. Good for you! Now I wonder if you look at the return per year, if your returns are dropping, or steady.

This is the proxy we should tell youngins to adhere to with copper cents. In my neck of the woods, still getting at least 20% copper out of sealed boxes and probably a bit more from customer wrapped rolls. They are already ahead of the curve with copper being about 3x the face value per a cent. In their lifetime, the melt ban being lifted is a good chance, as probably we will have gone to near zero cash society. Even at 3% annual inflation of copper prices, the copper will have a head start over inflation many times over. Of course, in about 30 years, some of them may look back and ask why no one told them to start collecting the copper. Maybe they're buying crypto and meme stocks and doing alright now. We had that same vibe in the 90's.
