Because of the rising price of gas I thought I would try improvise so I left my cell phone# with all of the merchant tellers at the five banks I get pennies from and told them I would buy any (large) amounts of customer wrapped penny rolls that came in. A few days back I received a call that someone brought in $115 worth of wrapped cents so I hurried down and grabbed them. I opened the ends of few just to make sure they weren't skunks and saw a '77 and a '63 so I knew I was good.
After sorting them all I found my rarest cent so far--a 1912 d. At first glance I got real excited because I thought it might be an S but when I brought the penny closer to my eyes it was a D. Not bad though, still a low mintage of 10,000,000+
It's probably no coincidence that I found my rarest penny yet just when I began searching CWRs for the very first time. Prior to this I had only been searching $25 boxes.
