23k gold plated ornaments

Postby Tantalar » Sat Mar 12, 2011 2:23 pm

Is 23k gold plated worth anything? I found 12 23k gold plated christmas ornaments at an estate sale and was wondering if they could be used for scrap gld recovery since they are 23k gold and there looks to be a lot of surface area. What do you guys think?

Also got 2 raggedy anne dolls, and an alabaster jewelry trinket box as well as 10 VCrs with remotes and all cords all for about $53 total

You might try putting the ornaments on Ebay in sets of 12.

Yeah I figure around christmas time they would probably be a big hit.

I was also curious about their gold content. I know that computer gold plated it much lower quality gold and besides, there is a LOT more area that is plated on each of these ornaments. I am too much of a pansy to attempt any sort of gold reclaim from this.

I also have a decent amount of computer scrap saved up which I WISH I knew how to safely refine into gold but again, no way in hell am I messing with something that is that dangerous especially with ZERO alchemy skills!
