Are you suffering from normalcy bias?

Postby Copper Catcher » Mon Apr 11, 2011 7:31 am

I think we are all guilty of having normalcy bias, which causes us to deny oncoming dangers or makes us do silly things during a disaster.

In short, well education people believe that nothing bad will ever happen. “This is America!”

Perhaps the most extreme example to point out is when Jewish people continued living in Germany, even after they were forced to wear identifying yellow stars.

We all have a natural tendency to ignore, underestimate, and minimized the progressive signs of danger!

I wouldn't worry, Obama is going to run for re-election.

If Germany invades Poland and war breaks out in Europe...by golly you might be on to something.
