Found 11 solid rolls of 1964 halves today

I was making my penny and dime box run today picking up boxes, and the 1 bank I stopped at to ask for halves had 11 rolls. I'm sure glad I stopped there because when I got home I found out that they were all solid rolls of 1964s. Who rolls up and turns in 220 1964s for $110? Amazing.

UNBELIEVABLE. You got almost $2800.00 of silver for $110.00 Now I am again jealous and envious of you guys that find silver. I just told my supply bank to stop ordering halves for me. I have been going through $4,000.00 every week for months and am lucky to find one 90%er and two or three 40%ers in $4,000.00 So I have given up I am done searching halves. It just isn't worth my time or theirs.

But congratulations on a great find. It will never happen to me.

Heres what you do (rather a good idea that I would do): Cash it out, pay yourself back the $110, and Buy a nice key date that you always wanted to go in your collection.
Easy to rationalize it as "free" this way you have no regrets on spending so much loot on that 1916-D you've always wanted

Keep the other "at face" finds that have rolled in of late, but treat yourself on this one.

This is just unbelievable. Are you making all of these half/dime scores at the same bank/chain of banks, or are they spread out all over the place? Are they small banks, credit unions, or major ones? I need to start asking for halves everywhere I go.

i actually have thought of trying to fund a vacation like that this summer. Hop round from campsite to campsite, hitting up all the small town bansk, and city banks we pass through..... If it was eassier to flip the coin back to cash, I would without a doubt.... let the wife drive, and do some edge checking.... i used to road trip a lot, would be fun.

Someone collected them knowing what their value was. Someone got access to them and turned them in not knowing their true value. Did you check to see if any dimes or quarters were available at that branch?

EXACTLY!!! It's NOT... I REPEAT NOT.... about volume! It's about QUALITY! Quality being defined as CWR's!!!!! I haven't hit it that big yet... but I did hit 40+ coins a few months back from $400. If a bank hands me bank wrapped rolls... I buy a few... then move on to the next bank never to return! I'm hoping for a score like you got... but I'll be happy for the rest of my life with my 37 64's and 9 40%ers just fine if I never find anymore. WHAT A GREAT STORY TO PASS ON TOO! SOLID ROLLS! DANG! Congrats! Keep it up!

I'd sell a few and get some Eagles! THAT is the ULTIMATE trading up story! Imagine... 20 years from now... you sell those rolls for a full trip paid to Europe or something! All for only a $30 investment + a little time and gas!
