I went to one of my pick up banks today to pick up my 1k order of halves.
They said they were glad to see me and asked me if I would want an extra $2k in halves.
I asked them how they got so many halves and they said that someone turned in 2k in halves.
I asked if they were customer rolled and they said no.
Turns out an elderly coin collector was being placed in a nursing home and his family brought in 4 boxes of halves he had not sorted yet.
Kind of a sad story in a way.
So far, in one box I sorted I found a 1964 JFK and 4 40% JFKs.

At least they didn't just turn in his silver collection for face value.

Uh, I'd say "not yet" ---- keep going back to that bank, they may soon be the recipients of a bunch of old coins.

Always be suspicous of rounded even numbers. Not many people have exactly $2k that they are holding on to.

Well these were bank sealed boxes so the family brought in 4 of them.
Guess the guy was a handsorter like us.
Kind of sad to think he has to give up his hobby now.
I still have $500 I have to go through; I had two skunk boxes and one box with a 1964 and 4 40% and another box that had a single 1964.

If it was one of us they would have never been turned in. We would still be sorting in the nursing home.
If you are waiting for the "correction" to buy you need to realize that the increasing prices ARE the correction.
$100 Silver soon coming to a location near you.
