GOT MINE!! WOO HOO! The website is actually still loading, despite quick checkout and clicking on place order. But in a new window, I checked my webmail and it has a new email from the US mint, stating the full amount, along with an order number. And yes, it says backordered.

The fastest sellout that I can personally recall was the 2009 Lincoln coin/chronicle set. I think it was for 50,000 sets and it took 5 hours. I think this will sell out in 8-12 hours. And if it doesn't go that quick, then it would be 24 hours at most.

Woot woot, I believe I am good to go on my 5 sets. I have an email confirmation with order number, but I never got to see the order summary on the web site. it crashed on me. My order confirmations email has a time of 12:07 Est. I should have a fairly low coa number also.

Taking the day off to get these set ordered and now will spend the rest of the afternoon trying to restrain myself from ordering another 5....

This is only hearsay, but a commentor at mintnewsblog said they are figuring approx 178 orders per minute based on their order numbers. If the average order is just 2 sets, then in 2 hours that would be over 40k of the 100k sets sold!!!

Yep, I saw that...was getting ready to post the same, but you posted first. Orders are at 383377xx @ 1:25pm and they initially started around 383256xx @ 12:08pm. Remember, this is the order number.....and each order could have 1 or could have 5. So that's around 12,000 orders. If there's an average of 3 sets per order, then that would seem to indicate 36,000 sets sold in only 1.5 hours!

Order numbers started lower then that. Mine is in the range of 38325xxx The last 3 digits considerably lower then 6xx

So let's assume then, that 40K are sold, leaving 60K. At an average of 170 order per minute (10,200 orders per hour), if it is non-stop demand...and there are an average of 3 sets per order, that's 36,600 sets sold per hour. That means they would sell out in just two more hours! Or by 4pm EST. But that's only if it's non-stop demand. So I'm sticking with my original estimate of 8-12 hours.
