From the BU-PU capitol of the world: 2 more half boxes for your entertainment:

1 box entirely filled with 1998-BUs :?

1 box filled with 2000-P BUs, except for two rolls of mixed circulated halves. :?

Time will tell how many more they've got at the Richmond, VA Brink's facility, but I'm game....

Ok guys, now I consider myself a fairly serious sorter. I started out this year with a goal of 500 boxes and it looks like I should hit it unless the unforseen happens, but 10 or 12 boxes per week is about my max with other things in life going on such as work, wife, kids, etc. Picking up, sorting and dumping more than that would be tough.

So, how do you guys do it? You both make me look minor league. I haven't counted, but it seems that you both do twice what I do if not 3 or 4 times what I do. You're sorting machines.

Are you retired and just sort? Do you have a harem that does it for you when they are not taking care of your needs? Do you kidnap children, chain them to a table in your basement and have them sort? Curious (and envious) minds want to know.

It should be noted that i burn through about 10$ of nickels a week at work, with this being the most notable pick up.

Did you find a roll of Buffalos and a roll of War Nicks? Or, did you pick these out of a large volume of nickels? If so, how many were searched to find these Buffalos and Wars???

Joe,

First and foremost you are a major league sorter, and while I have never stated it publicly, you (and a person who recently passed away from another message board I frequent) are the reason I do the volume I do. I even number my boxes in this thread like you do. By paying attention to both of you I learned that heavy volume was the key to maximizing periods when the boxes were running hot, and hopefully getting through cold periods quicker.

As for me, I work 40 hours a week and I am happily married with a 5 year old daughter. With regard to half sorting I am up to 22 boxes a week (6 on Wed, 8 on Thurs, and 8 on Fri), and the picking up, sorting, and dumping of those 22 boxes only takes up a combined total of 12 to 14 hours of my week.

Sorry there is no harem or "silver sweatshop" in my basement, but hopefully this gives you a little insight into me and my sorting. Thank you for your posts that always inspire me, and make me work harder at this hobby even if you didn't know it.

Thanks for the kind words CnC. Best of Luck to you, you really cleaned up on the Walkers tonight.

I was having such a good batch, that I decided to go ahead and do the last two of them tonight and they were both good. Out of 12 boxes there were no skunks, and easily my best batch of the year. If things hold up I'm trending to have my best month of the year. The vast majority of the silvers were 40% in this batch, but hey, silver is silver.

Half Box #449

3 1965
3 1967
1 1968D
5 1969D

Half Box #450

5 1965
3 1966
5 1967
12 1968D
13 1969D

That's going to do me until my next 12 come in Tuesday. Hopefully it will be out of the same vein.

PS - Come to think about it the harem idea is pretty good, I wonder if the dear wife would go for it - "But honey, they are only here to help my sort, HONEST".

Not a good day for roll hunting. Also, each box came from a different branch.

I'm assuming these are dime boxes. :)
