Found a 1880 in a $50 bag. I'd grade it G-4.

My first IHC pulled at the beginning of this month. Belongs to the 1909 tribe.

Haven't found one in the wild in over a year it seems. Got one tonight. An 1884 in semi-G4 shape. Looked like a metal detector find as it is dark and pitted from corrosion and has some edge chipping. I suppose a coin that is 127 years old can have some history. Found it in a $25 box. My guess is it would not catch anyone's eye readily so it made it to the coin counter (beats the IH I found in a bank $50 penny bag a few years ago that was cut in half; don't remember if it was the half with the date on it or not). Also found a smooshed clad dime in this same box penny box tonight. When the searching for silver gets mundane, the penny searches can always offer some surprises.

So far I have only found 5 IH pennies since I started mining pennies. At that I've gone through 125,000 coins. I think that I'd stand a better chance of being struck by lightening that finding an IH.
Don't look back. Something may be gaining on you.

Neither a penny or a nickel is worth face value anymore.

I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger.
