At 1:18 in the clip, the dollar symbol has two vertical bars.
I have never seen any confirmation, but it is my belief that the single bar dollar sign denotes the fiat tender currency, and the two-bar symbol represented metal backed money.
Has anyone seen any info or discussions of this change of the dollar sign? When did it occur?
