Anyone know the weight on a sterling marksmanship badge? Are the add-on badges sterling also?
Thanks.

That's a good question. I would assume no silver.

The normal ones that have a Cross and wreath have 9.5-10 Grams a Piece

Watch for unmarked ones and silverfilled ones, Yes 1/10th SILVER filled, very cheap.....

So if they are not marked "sterling" assume no/low silver content.

Marksmanship badges from the military May or may not contain any silver. Depends entirely on which vendor makes it. The badges I have from my years (16 consecutive expert) vary from silver alloyed with nickel, nickel plated pewter (other white metals have been used), something called oxidized silver which has a grey-black color, and likely a variety of other alloys ranging from no silver to .999. I do not know what is available from on base uniform shops today, because I have not visited one since 1993.

If its not marked in anyway ALWAYS assume its not silver

Of course there is a few unmarked silver and gold items, but you cant tell by just looking at them

I dug my marksmanship badge out from the late 60's and it along with the add-ons are marked silver filled.

Doesn't matter to me that they're worthless as far as Ag content....they're worth their weight in gold to me.
....not a fortunate son.
