Found a 1921 Quarter

Postby beauanderos » Mon Dec 19, 2011 12:08 am

Ok, so I'm going thru my bag of slicks I'm prepping to send to APMEX... and I found a 1921 Standing Liberty, in better shape than the one linked below

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1921-STANDING-L ... 4aafcf4806

Mine has only the 1 visible, but it is very distinct. Looks to be about F12 obverse/VG 6 reverse.

My question... does anyone think it's worth it to submit for slabbing, or would you just stick it in your album? I don't particularly care for slabbed coins myself.

If you want, and need, the coin then you could just hang onto it.
But if you are thinking of selling it, then slabbing it would probably be worthwhile.
If it came back at a really low grade, crack it and sell it raw.

When I found mine a couple years back it was in a roll of "slicks" I bought off of the bay.......same description as yours, the one was totally visible. It is hanging out in my Dansco until the day I decide to upgrade to a full date. That won't happen until after I get a 23s and a 16, the only 2 I'm lacking for the set.

If you plan on selling it it may be worth having it graded, but like you I'm not much on paying for plastic.
You could put a pick of it on this forum or another and have people grade it.
Lots of very knowledgable people out there, and some are better than the folks at the TPG's.
Got Laminated Lincolns? Give me a buzz.
