Postby henrysmedford » Thu Jan 12, 2012 10:48 pm

Franklin and started a British North America Whitman cent folder!

For info on British North America see-- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_North_America

I think it is possible to fill all the holes if you have any hole fillers . Let us know we have CTU to trade!

I've seen multiple Canadian purchases from you lately... how is this book going now?

I had one of those PEI ones. I'll take a look around for it. May have sold it though... awful memory!

I think it's funny that the PEI section has one coin but there are two holes because of the obverse thing...
I have that coin, but it is grungy. I found it in a dealer junk bin and thought hey this is unlike any other Canadian large cent I have... that may have been my first venture into these BNA coins. And now I've got you hooked.

That is really cool! I never even knew some of these Whitman folders existed! Where do you find them?

My wife go me the book Guide to Vintage Coin Folders http://books.google.com/books?id=fGpzPvuNDy8C&printsec=frontcover&dq=guide+to+vintage+folders&hl=en&sa=X&ei=RI0dT6uVKMWqiAKjstDHCA&ved=0CDAQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=guide%20to%20vintage%20folders&f=false
The folder we are filling from Ebay. Also I found most coin stores have a stack of used out of print album and folders.

Nice. Well, that will finish up the Newfoundland small cents....then for the Obverse filler, just pick up the cheapest one of any year whenever you go to the coin shop next.

Only one more Nova Scotia cent to go! BTW, just for the heck of it, I just checked at the usual places here in town; nobody even carries that folder and it can't be found anywhere. But if I ever decide to get one, I'm sure somebody would have one at the local coin shows; they usually have tons of stuff and people are always selling partial albums.

U.S. coins with mintages as low as those would be ... legendary.

Wow! All you need is the 1862 Nova Scotia Large Cent and your album is finished. :) (Filling the obverse slots should be very easy and cheap)

What a cool idea on the folders. I just found my first George V Canadian cent, a 1920. From what I read, I understand that was the year they stopped making larger, nearly quarter-sized cents.

Incidentally, when googling "whitman folders wiki" you guys show up in the first ten on a bullionstacker post of a similar nature.

It has been some time for a hole filler!
