For my birthday, I told my Mother and my Brother that I wanted half dollars from the bank. They told me that they each went to 5 banks to try to get them. My Mom got $12.00 worth and my Bro got $8.00 worth. They could not believe how hard it was to find them. They confirmed multiple "someone came and took them all the other day" and "no halves, but I have a bunch of the gold dollars". I felt bad for sending them on a wild goose chase, but I never expected to each try 5 banks. Just another day for one of us Realcenters. We got a good laugh out of it.

This haul will be remembered for a long time!
Went to a supermarket today hoping the bank branch would be opened, but no luck.
Conducted some business at the courtesy desk and got back .20 in change, both dimes were silver and I heard the clerk drop more in the till. After politely explaining that I wanted to buy all of her dimes, waiting for the manager to say ok, and politely letting all the other customers transact, I came away with 115 silver Roosevelt dimes! There was absolutely no way I was leaving that counter without every dime in her till.
