Wow. Seeing all these coins and boxes and bags searched makes me feel privileged to post something here today! And I feel a bit "ashamed" to say I had a great score today with absolutely NO SKUNKS!

Walked into usual bank and asked my sheepish question "do you have any halves today not in rolls, loose?" I thought I'd get same answer in the last few months - "No, nothing" or to walk to other side near walk-up part of bank and get a few nickel-copper ones.

No, today was different!

One little clerk lady said "I just have 4!". I said, "Oh, I guess I can 'handle' that many - it won't break my wallet or pocket to carry that many." Well, one looked yellow-ish in her hand. So that got me hoping!

Sure enough, all 4 - bought for $2 - were 1964's!!!!!

I looked quickly as I walked out - and more outside in the cold windy rainy weather! It was a clean sweep! 4 out of 4 - 90% 1964's!

Un - real!!!!!

I always ask for loose - never rolls or boxes of rolls.

That made my week! Keep looking everyone! They are out there!


P.S. Turns out I knew the clerk - and know her mother. Small world/small town. I may ask her mom if I can give her my number to call if she has any more for next time!

Two boxes of halves last week, nothing, two boxes, week before that, nothing. $50 in dimes last week, 1964D dime. If I get skunked on the halves again this week I'm done searching halves, might try $500 in dimes every week instead. I like pulling the marked coins and getting to know my fellow sorters. A new searcher added a red mark underneath Kennedy's nose is what I've noticed of last.

8 boxes this month. Box 1 skunk, Box two, 3 40%, 2 in one roll. Box 4,5,6,7 skunk, box 8 2 40% halves. 5 40% out of 8 boxes. Found 3.50 in beautiful 2010 halves on box 7 though.
