My grandsons and I have been hand sorting for a very short wile. When we started I just wanted to see if they were interested or not. I've been sorting and collecting sine 1952 with then my grandfather, we collected Flying Eagle pennies - those collected paid for my college education in
1965. I now want to get as many CU as I can to jump start my collection with my grandsons. Need a bunch and want a fair price to me in S.C.

How easy is it to find a buyer of CU pennies for 1.5 cents on craigs list .The fees on ebay are an outrage

I'm sure you could list on Craigs List. Seems like everybody on there wants something for nothing. It's a great place to put an old dish washer you want picked up off the street. I hate to pay ebay fees too but can't really call it an outrage. They're a business offering a service. They can harge whatever they want for the service. It's up to the consumer to pay it or not.

Let us know how it goes on Craigs List.

Elcid, I live in Columbia, SC. Shoot me a PM and maybe we can work something out.

I have put some ads on Craigslist and had one bite. Traded $100 FV in copper pennies for 7 morgans and 2 rosevelt dimes. I have also been called a crackhead and have been told about various cavities where I can put my pennies.

I have had people get all up in arms in response to my 1.5X craigslist ad. I just send them a link to eBay sold auctions so they can see that a market exists and I am not a crook.

7 Morgans and 2 dimes!!!! I would do that all day. I would pick up an extra Ryedale or two if I could find someone willing to do trades like that with me. Nice work.

I'm really hoping he wants to do some more trading in the future.

I agree that eBay fees aren't really all that bad. 9% is way less than any "real" business would spend on advertising to get their product in front of tens of thousands of interested customers.

I'm thinking of buying some actually. I've been wondering if the mailman would really wonder what is in that box though....what does a $100 box weigh?

$100FV is about 68.2 lbs. My mailman is a really nice guy and is always curious about all the stuff I have coming to me in the mail

And to the OP, I think you should keep adding to your stack unless you need some fast cash.
