Circulating World Currency collection

Postby Z00 » Fri Feb 17, 2012 7:42 am

I have been mulling over the idea of embarking on a collection of currently circulating world currencies. Getting 1 example of the current "base" denomination IE: 1 Dollar, 1 Dinar, 1 Rupee, etc. of every issuing country. Whether it is a coin or a bill.
Wikipedia says there are 182 different currencies currently in circulation while there are 193 soveriegn entities in the UN.
Has anyone here tried something like this?

Today my son Franklin told a teller he collects foreign coins and she said I have something for you. She gave him last years MRI Bankers' Guide to Foreign Currency. It is the 75th Edition look like it was a $75 book. See -- http://www.mriguide.com/
