Found 1914-D

Postby Lemon Thrower » Sun Feb 19, 2012 11:54 am

My son, who we call the Money Magnet, found this 1914-D penny.

its not in great shape but the redbook says $200 for G-4.

He would like to sell this - how you would proceed?

Do you think it would grade at G-4? Should we get it slabbed first, then list on eBay?

Looks more like a 1944-D to me, look at the spacing between the 9 and "1"

i don't think so but its possible. if it were a 44, you would expect to see more of the horizontal part of the 4, especially as it crosses the veritcal part of the 1 or the 4 as it is.
