The Rodebaugh Fat Boy Release

Postby Rodebaugh » Tue Feb 21, 2012 10:47 pm

Instead of cluttering up other threads with random posts I thought it prudent to have a central area for info and discussion on and about the Fat Boy Classic Release.

Best looking 1oz bar you'll find IMO. People collect poured bars.

No, thats a good question man. No A-hole vibes taken ;)

My best guess: folks see profit potential. Speculation maybe?
My hope: folks realy just want to collect them cause they think they're cool.
Reality: A little of both I'd say.

Does anyone know whether one will have to chose a #? I'm expecting the site getting hit pretty hard, and don't want my order cluttered because someone else just bought the # I'm targeting. Frankly I don't care which #, just want the bar with a #.

I think at $20 over spot, just barely would make it worth his time and investment.....assuming he was doing it for the money, which I don't think he is. Not to mention that Copper Cave needs to make his profit too.

Yes, you have to select a number in order to add one to your shopping cart.

Could this gum up ordering......say a bar was selected by two folks....and one checks out first? Can that happen? whould it null the whole order while the person scrambled to get another # in their cart?

I was thinking the same thing. Was hoping it would just give you a random number that hasn't been selected yet.

That's why I'm asking... not all that concerned about serial #.

If somebody checks out before you with the same number selected, it will zap that bar out of your cart (actually it will change the quantity to 0 and tell you it's no longer available). That bar will also disappear from the number selection drop-down box on the order page.

This will be the first use of this selection system, so I would appreciate feedback afterward from people who order (or attempt to order). If it doesn't work well, I'll make changes for future releases like this.

One thing about it, with a limit of 3, that should insure higher prices on the secondary market.
