The dreaded 2007 Canadian nickel

Postby Cu Lung » Sat Mar 03, 2012 9:55 pm

Trying to find the answer for the burning question all you Canadian nickel hoarders have been wondering. Why does a coin sorter at the bank not take 2007 nickels? I looked google, yahoo and wikipedia for the result, nothing comes up. The nickel seems to be made of the same material since 2000 it's 94.5% steel, 3.5% Cu and 2% nickel plating.

Well clearly the company that makes the machine figured it out, takes '07's now. :)
