I had found youtube videos for reverse electroplating to clean silver and gold coins. I saw one example where this trick was used to remove gold plating on junk jewelry. But it dod not cover how to recover the gold from such process. Is anyone familiar with these techniques? It seems more practical than acid and chemistry to extract gold form computer chips.

"Gold recovery" is a complete waste of time for 99%+ of the population. It's also potentially hazardous, illegal and expensive.
If you want to make money with gold, sell the electroplated stuff as junk for a few dollars and invest some time and money learning how to find the real stuff at tag sales. It's amazing how much is out there!
Or just "trade up" the plated material for something purer that's much easier to handle and sell.
