Amazing eBay score.

Got a killer deal on eBay recently. I don't buy much there due to prices, but I took a gamble.

Ad for 245 silver war nickles, dated 1941 to 1945. I think we all see the problem here. The nickels in the photo all looked dark, so I took a shot. Well, I ended up paying $138 shipped and thought I most likely got ripped off. The guy wasn't a coin dealer, so I thought maybe it was a one time sale. They arrived today. 234 of them were actual silver war nickles! Melt as of today, $420.

Best score yet, really helps the stack :)

Wow well done. Better than the lot I got a few weeks ago. Also war nickels though.

Good thing the ebay auction wasn't being run by Idaho Copper... otherwise he would have pulled the auction!

Job well done!

I typically avoid searching eBay and assume that missing auction detail means a high probability of intended deception. But this is a great story. Congrats on the great buy!

Wow, ok. So I actually just got my best one yet by far, close to PADFH but still not quite as good.

Yeah, I was shocked, there were only 12 views and no one was bidding! Even so, PADFH's deal was better. Even with a generous discount due to the 35% content, he still came it at about 40%
