I've already got a 5 figure account sitting there, and she was rude enough about it that I'm seriously considering walking into the CU president's office tomorrow to tell him I want to empty my account.

I closed my account at RCU about 17 years ago, but kept the credit card and used it the whole time, well it was not until I called them to ask a question about my account did they say I HAD to open an account with them to have the credit card. So, a couple of months ago they sent me the application to re-open my account with them - 5 bucks required of course, I still have not sent it in.
I don't take much of anything anyone at banks and CU tell me seriously anymore, I just read the fine print, and say ok.

Most of which do not understand the banking system, which makes it even more scary.
